Building repairs, maintenance,
This beautiful kitchen features glass mosaics above black slate effect tiles. Finished with white shaker doors and high gloss granite effect worktops it really is an eye catcher. The stainless steel plinths really go well with the tile effect laminate flooring and of course the fancy blue undercounter lighting helps set the mood in the evenings. |
The kitchen here has been tiled from floor to ceiling. The tiles have been mounted in staggered brick work style. To complement this layout I used a marble boarder and a slate mosaic splash back. |
A fine example of a minimalistic bathroom. It has a monobloc basin, a glass shower screen with no border and has been finished with glazed marble tiles. On installing the shower I put the water inlet pipe in the wall to keep it looking contemporary. The toilet is in a room next to the bathroom. Here I fitted a new loo, a bathroom grade water proof laminate and boxed in some large pipe work. |
Whilst installing this bathroom I was faced with the decision of wether to surface mount chrome hot and cold pipes for the mixer shower or to put them into the wall. I opted for the latter and chased the pipes and fittings deep into the wall, once I tiled the bathroom the pipes were of course hidden and this helped make it look very neat and modern. |
I bedded this patio on 5 inches of hardcore and 5 inches of concrete. Before this stage though the i had to remove the exsisting concrete and lower the manhole by three layers of bricks. So from what was a stepped unsuitable space, I constructed a large flat heavy duty patio. I replaced the manhole cover with one designed to lay patio slabs within, this as you can see helps make it look discrete.
This patio was constructed using reclaimed bricks for a retaining wall around the edge. As I built the wall I fitted wall lights to provide low level lighting, which creates a fantastic effect in the evening and does not disturb the neighbours. The patio area was simply finished with blue slate. |

These velux windows are part of a loft conversion and re-roof that I did on a terraced house. The Velux on the left serves its purpose as a roof window to let in light. The other Velux is being a little more clever. For a loft conversion to be approved by the local building authorities it needs 2m headroom all the way as you walk up the stairs, its not often that it is possible. So to gain headroom where it was to low the auhtorities and I came up with the solution of fitting this second Velux which gave it an extra 4 inches and of course it also helped bring light down the stair case. |
